Adult Programs
Blood Drive with the American Red Cross
Monday, February 3 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Help other people in our community and give blood. American Red Cross staff will be doing the blood drawing. Register at Red Cross Blood Drive or you may call 800-733-2767 to register. Bring a photo ID or your blood donor card, or two other forms of ID. Eat a healthy meal and drink an extra 16 oz. of water and fluids before the donation. Please register online.
Improv for Anxiety with The Second City
Monday, February 3 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
These workshops are a partnership between The Second City and Lutheran Social Services of IL. A Second City Training Centre instructor will lead the class through a series of improv exercises that are specifically chosen to help students focus on the present and step outside of their comfort zones. The workshops are designed as a series, but can be joined at any time. Please register online.
Dungeons & Dragons for Adults: The Black Hack

Repair Cafe: Forward Chicago
Saturday, February 8 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Forward Chicago is hosting a Repair Cafe every 2nd Saturday of the month. In this program, Forward Chicago volunteers can repair jewelry, sew clothes, and repair general stuff too depending on the item. Volunteers are unable to repair watches nor properly hem garments. Paper, Vinyl and Song: Chicago Blues

Join us for our next meeting of the Paper, Vinyl and Song book club. This session we will explore Chicago Blues in celebration of Black History Month. Focusing on the artists Muddy Waters, Koko Taylor and Big Bill Broonzy, we will delve into the history and influence of the Chicago Blues. Attendees will be able to view Big Bill Broonzy's guitar, from the Old Town School of Folk Music collection, up close and personal.

Join the Sulzer Sewing Team with Sewing Instructor Jessica Duhig for this two-hour workshop! You will discover the basics of sewing in a fun and supportive environment! Participants can expect to learn how to thread a needle, operate a sewing machine, and mend their garments. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this class will guide you step by step, leaving you with new confidence in sewing and mending. Mississippi Blues Trail Marker in Grant Park Join us for a screening of the documentary, "Chicago Blues." Filmed in 1972, Harley Cokeliss’ film is a testament to the Chicago Blues. Remarkable in that it was not just a competent documentary but a film crafted with care by professionals with a love and understanding of Blues and a respect for its history and artists. Featured music and artists, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy et al., faithfully reflect the Chicago Blues scene of the late ’60s. Great Decisions Discussion Group 2025 - Registration Opens February 3rd
Great Decisions, the nation’s largest discussion program on world affairs returns to Sulzer this Spring. The series begins Monday March 10th and will run for eight weeks. Registration opens February 3.
